On that Front he took part in the Battles of Ypres, Passchendaele, Cambrai, and the Somme, and also experienced fierce fighting at La Bassee and Nieuport. In March 1918 he was wounded at Framerville and invalided home, remaining in England until demobilised in March 1919.
