bullet  Marriage Notes:

Extract of an email from Nigel Prince indicating another son, John, b around 1776:

The connection to Hugh and Neston comes from a couple of pieces of evidence
John Maddison's census entry 1851 Ashtons Green
John Maddison aged 74 Coal Basket maker born Parr Gate Cheshire
Elizabeth Maddison aged 73 born Sutton Lancashire

After a bit of puzzling I worked out that Parr Gate actually meant Park Gate. This Wirral village is within the parish of Neston. On checking Neston parish register several Maddisons appeared. As it is a really unusual surname in Cheshire I took this to be the correct family but sadly could not find John's baptism though I am confident that Hugh was most likely his father.
