bullet  Research Notes:

Not sure if James belongs here yet or how old he is. Added only for the connection in the "drowning document". No James found in area of Ashton with dob 1770-1790 Not known where he is from but we do know he lived at Lowton in 1819. Based on the essence of: "FILE - Lowton to Golborne. Order of removal of James Eddleston, Ellen his wife and Peter, James, William, Susannah and John their children - ref. QSP/2763/62 - date: 1819 21 May" We certainly have William, Peter Ellen, Susannah and John in Golborne in 1841. Also assuming they are listed in age. Thomas is not mentioned, he could have been married in 1819, Peter (if he is the Peter in Lowton) would have been 29, hardly called a child. I think we might be able to eliminate him. So this would then put Peter after Thomas who was 22 at the time. James might have been his son. Appears Ellen was not born yet. Having now found that Ellen's son Thomas was not an Eddleston and the first son, Peter was born 1802 makes it somewhat more likely that James is younger than first thought, could have been born after 1780 and mother could have been Hannah Worral.
