In the 1841 census Elizabeth's place of birth is given as "In County" (ie. Lancashire) but in 1851 as "Yorkshire Macclesfield" (sic) but subsequently as "Lancashire Darwen". There are two Darwens in Lancashire, one near Preston (a small village) and Darwen in Blackburn. That latter is the more probable.
