Date: 31 January 2012 Details:
  1. The addition of the Northumberland and Westmorland census returns for 1911 to the Ferguson One Name Study has been completed, and a start made on the Cumerland returns.
  2. A total of 281 records added.
  3. This Study now comprises 10,983 names of which 8415 are Fergusons, or derivatives thereof.
Up Date: 31 December 2011 Details:
  1. During the month 11 new names have been added to the Ferguson Family Tree, from the family of William Airey. This section now contains 4989 individuals and 765 families.
  2. 14 individuals have been added to the family of John Burton in the Grimshaw tree which comprises 1714 records and 333 families.
  3. An additional 293 names from the 1911 census records for Northumberland have been added to the Ferguson One Name Study.
  4. This Study now comprises 10,702 names of which 8197 are Fergusons, or derivatives thereof.
Up Date: 30 November 2011 Details:
  1. This month 33 new names have been added to the Grimshaw Family Tree. This section now contains 1699 individuals and 332 families.
  2. The main additions are to the Fanning; the Ledbeater and Burton families.
  3. An additional 323 names from the 1911 census records for County Durham have been added to the Ferguson One Name Study. This completes the census records for County Durham
  4. This Study now comprises 10,409 names of which 7976 are Fergusons, or derivatives thereof
Up Date: 31 October 2011 Details:
  1. The children of John E. and Eleanor (nee Barton) Crompton added to the Ferguson Family. With thanks to David Crompton.
  2. 6 new names added to the Ferguson family which now comprises 4989 records
  3. Various records for the Grimshaw family, now comprising 1662 records, have been amended, and 2 new ones added.
  4. An additional 306 names mainly from the 1911 census records for County Durham have now been added to the Ferguson One Name Study.
  5. This Study now comprises 10,072 names of which 7484 are Fergusons, or derivatives thereof

  1. Census details added to the Davies family and relatives.
  2. 8 new names added to the Ferguson family which now comprises 4983 records
  3. The 1901 census records for County Durham have now been added to the Ferguson One Name Study, an additional 641 names.

Up Date: 31 August 2011 Details:
  1. A new photograph album for Scotland has been created
  2. Additions of the Davies family and relatives, with acknowledgements to John and Judy Newton-Davies.
  3. 44 new names added to the Ferguson family which now comprises 4975 records
  4. The 1891 census records for County Durham have now been added to the Ferguson One Name Study.
  5. This Study now comprises 9125 names of which 6977 are Fergusons, or derivatives thereof
Up Date: 31 July 2011 Details:
  1. 75 Additions have been made to the Grimshaw Tree
  2. The main additions are to the Hartshorn Family of Worcester/Shropshire/Staffordshire.
  3. The 1881 census records for County Durham have now been added to the Ferguson One Name Study, and a number of new records, in particular from Scotland and Canada. Many thanks to all those who have contributed.
  4. This Study now comprises 8704 names of which 6631 are Fergusons, or derivatives thereof
Up Date: 30 June 2011 Details:
  1. The only additions this month are to the Grimshaw Tree to which 33 new names have been added. The Grimshaw section now contains 1587 individuals and 312 families.

  1. Acknowledgements to Alison Bilton for the family trees of the Halsall and Eden families, and
  2. to Sandra Clare for the updates to theHanson family.
  3. 60 new names have been added to my family tree which now contains 4931 individuals and 753 families.
  4. During May a net total of 216 names, largely from County Durham, have been added to the One-Name Study which now comprises 8284 individuals of whom 6290 are Fergusons.
Up Date: 31 March 2011 Details:
  1. Additions to the Ferguson Family include Richard Owen, my 5th great-grandfather, and
  2. Dorothy Stewardson, the wife of my 4th great-granduncle, together with her parents.
  3. In America Thomas Freeman Boothby, the son of Sady Lynn has been added.
  4. A net total of 889 names have been added to the One-Name Study which now comprises 8068 individuals of whom 6136 are Fergusons.
  5. In total there are now 14,215 individual names on this site.
Up Date: 28 February 2011 Details:
  1. An additional 21 names have been added to the Grimshaw tree, of which 15 are from the Smethurst family.
  2. The Grimshaw Records now contain 1550 records from 305 families.
  3. The only addition to the Ferguson Family is Charles Edward Bradbury and this section comprises 4870 individuals and 750 surnames.
  4. A number of duplications have been removed from the Ferguson One-Name Study, and many maiden names added.
  5. A net total of 853 names have been added to the One-Name Study which now comprises 7179 individuals of whom 5430 are Fergusons.
  6. Grateful thanks are due to Derek Ferguson for the contribution of his Scottish Family Tree.
  7. In total there are now 13,320 individual names on this site.
Up Date: 1 May 2011 Details:
  1. The Ferguson One-Name Study format has been completely changed to a dynamic system, instead of static.
  2. The Ferguson work during December and January was again concentrated solely on the Ferguson One-Name section.
  3. The census returns for Northumberland to the 1891 (inc) census have been added.
  4. Amendments have been made to the Grimshaw section including 2 new names
  5. A total of 979 names have been added to the Ferguson One-Name Study which now comprises 6370 individuals of whom 4866 are Fergusons.
Up Date: 30 Nov 2010 Details:
  1. Work during October was concentrated solely on the Ferguson One-Name section.
  2. Sincere thanks are due to Bev Veal who kindly gave the Vital Details for some 250 people, mainly from Northumberland.
  3. A total of 422 names have been added to the Ferguson One-Name Study which now comprises 5391 individuals of whom 4073 are Fergusons.
Up Date: 31 Oct 2010 Details:
  1. Confirmed that my 4th G. Grandfather Benjamin Ferguson is the son of Samual Furgison (sic).
  2. Additionally I have found Richard and Abigail Owen my 4th maternal Great Grandparents.
  3. Included the family of Mary Airey nee Ferguson, a previously unknown daughter of Benjamin.
  4. 23 new names added to the Ferguson Family and 2 to the Grimshaw Family.
  5. A total of 521 names have been added to the Ferguson One-Name Study which now comprises 4969 individuals of whom 3731 are Fergusons.
  6. There are now 4866 names and 749 surnames in my Ferguson Family section.
  7. The Grimshaw Family comprises 1526 individuals and 302 unique surnames.
Up Date: 30 Sep 2010 Details:
  1. During September I have been incorporating a new PC into my network, and completely reorganising my system, hence no work has been done on increasing the scope of the mobile phone conversion.
  2. However, 53 names have been added to the Ferguson and Grimshaw family files, of which 47 were in the Grimshaw section.
  3. Two main families have been added to the Grimshaws, that of John Edge and of William Dewhurst
  4. Recording the 1841-1901 census information for the Hundred of West Derby section of the Ferguson One-Name Study has been finished, and a large proportion of the Salford Hundred has also been added. A total of 409 individuals have been added this month.
  5. Thanks are due to Debora Farrow for the addition of the Canadian children of Ann Ferguson and her husband Thomas Farrow.
  6. There are now 4842 names and 748 surnames in my Ferguson Family section.
  7. The Grimshaw Family comprises 1525 individuals and 301 unique surnames.
  8. The One-Name study now has 4448 individuals of whom 3329 are Fergusons.
Up Date: 31 August 2010 Details:
  1. Work on improving Mobile Phone use, accessed at http://www.fergys.co.uk/mobile/ has continued.
  2. During August, 25 new names have been added to the Ferguson family and 8 to the Grimshaws.
  3. Included in the Ferguson family is a new Tyrer family. Thanks are due to Barbara Gregory for bringing them to my attention.
  4. The additions to the Grimshaw family are mainly associated with the Dewhursts.
  5. More Liverpool Fergusons added to Ferguson One-Name Study. A total of 467 individuals added this month.
  6. There are now 4831 names and 747 surnames in my Ferguson Family section.
  7. The Grimshaw Family comprises 1478 individuals and 293 unique surnames.
  8. The One-Name study now comprises 4039 individuals of whom 2999 are Fergusons.
  9. The total number of individuals on this site now exceeds 10,000.

  4. The main addition to the Ferguson Tree is the Australian life of Cicely Jopson. With acknowledgements to Mike Jopson.
  5. The Houghton and the Round families are the main additions to the Grimshaw tree.
  6. 498 more names added to Ferguson One-Name Study including 402 Fergusons, mainly in Liverpool.
  7. There are now 4806 names and 743 surnames in my Ferguson Family section.
  8. The Grimshaw Family comprises 1469 individuals and 290 unique surnames.
  9. The One-Name study now comprises 3572 individuals of whom 2629 are Fergusons.

  5. There has been a major correction to the family of John Anders.
